Algorithmic Composition Software funded by AHRC

Michael Edwards has won £120k AHRC Follow-On Funding for his project slippery chicken.

Michael’s award will allow him to bring his music composition software, slippery chicken, to public release. The software, which is for algorithmic composition, was developed by Michael as part of a research project that was funded by the AHRC (then still the AHRB) in 2004, as well as ZKM Karlsruhe in 2000 and 2001.

Michael is looking forward to introducing the software to other composers and seeing where his algorithmic approach takes their music.
