Rackwick Conservation Area Appraisal

This report began with the intention to study the settlement of Rackwick, its surrounding areas, and the possibility of a creating a Conservation Area.

The project aims:
• To highlight the significance of the area in terms of townscape, architecture and history.
• To identify important issues effecting the area
• To identify opportunities for development and enhancement
• To propose a land boundary that could become the designated Conservation Area

The work has been commissioned by Orkney Island Council and comprises of two methods of analysis, desk based study and on-site investigation.
