Call for Papers

We invite proposals for 20-minute papers from across and beyond the music disciplines on the theme of music and collecting. Areas of discussion may include, but are not limited to:

  • Music and materiality
  • Music, ownership and listening
  • Collecting, copyright and ethics
  • Digitisation and music collecting
  • Music and museums
  • Collecting and gender
  • Music consumption as composition or performance
  • Issues of affect, identity, memory and value
  • Collectors as mediators, creators, traffickers, producers
  • The commercialisation of collecting
