ECA Library now gives you direct access to Digimap with the University subscription. You need to register, create a profile and log in to use this great resource of digitised maps. For information on how to do this, follow this link: http://edina.ed.ac.uk/digimap/access/

The Geosciences databases page of the University library gives you access to Digimap and also Geology Digimap.

Alternatively visit the National Library of Scotland Map Library at Causewayside in Edinburgh. You don’t need a Reader’s Ticket to access this part of the NLS, just turn up! You will be warmly welcomed and can get help tracking down maps of any age and of any place. NLS also has a fantastic online map library, see http://maps.nls.uk/
The online maps at NLS include large scale maps of Edinburgh such as their 1:500 scale series “Edinburgh & its Environs”, where you can see down to the level of individual buildings in each street. At NLS Map Library you can access high-resolution zoomable images of over 44,000 maps of Scotland.
