Jamie Cross

JamieMy research and teaching brings social anthropology to bear on problems, projects and technologies of ‘development’. I have carried out ethnographic fieldwork in India, Papua New Guinea and Scotland on projects connected to infrastructure and what it means to live ‘life off the grid’(http://www.lifeoffthegrid.net); on market based approaches to development and aiding the global poor, and the use of renewable (particularly, solar) energies in contexts of global poverty (https://solarassemblage.com).
